Ukhokhelo Lolutsha is a dedicated youth empowerment initiative focused on transforming the lives of young people in under-resourced communities through education, mentorship, and community engagement. Core Programs and Services
- After-School Care and Homework Assistance
- Our After-School Care Program offers young people a safe, structured space where they can complete homework, receive personalized assistance, and engage in educational activities. Trained mentors provide homework help in various subjects, helping students overcome academic challenges and develop strong study habits. Beyond academics, we host a weekly Book Club that encourages reading, discussion, and a love for learning. Through this program, we aim to support academic success and foster a lifelong curiosity for knowledge.
- Computer Skills Training
- Our Computer Skills Program equips youth with essential digital skills that are increasingly necessary in today’s world. Participants learn computer basics, internet navigation, and essential software programs, gaining valuable skills for both personal and professional use. The program introduces coding fundamentals, online safety, and digital creativity, allowing young people to explore and express themselves in the digital world. - Entrepreneurship Development
- Ukhokhelo Lolutsha’s Entrepreneurship Program is designed to nurture an entrepreneurial mindset among youth. This program introduces business basics, financial literacy, marketing strategies, and leadership skills, empowering young people to explore new ideas, create innovative solutions, and build their own ventures. Through mentorship and practical workshops, students learn the steps to start a business, develop creative problem-solving skills, and gain confidence in their abilities. - Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Facilitation
- The GBV Facilitation Program is an essential component of our commitment to creating safe, inclusive communities. Through educational workshops and open discussions, we raise awareness about gender-based violence, promote healthy relationships, and teach self-advocacy. Our program provides a safe space for youth to understand their rights, learn how to set boundaries, and recognize and report abusive behavior. By fostering empathy, respect, and mutual understanding, we work toward reducing the prevalence of GBV and empowering youth to be advocates for themselves and others.
- Community Cleanup Campaign
- Our Community Cleanup Campaign focuses on promoting environmental responsibility and community pride. Through regular cleanup events and workshops on waste management, we bring together youth, local residents, and community partners to work toward a cleaner, healthier environment. Participants learn about recycling, proper waste disposal, and environmental sustainability, building habits that benefit both their communities and the planet.
